Long ago prayers and Birthday wishes...

...Have you ever wished or prayed for the same thing over and over?
As a child, I had one particular prayer... (said during my bedtime prayer before going to sleep.)
(Waikanai, Japan 1970-ish)
(I thought I'd clarify this photo...no, I did not dress like this before I went to sleep! haha)

...or birthday wish (you know, the one that you wish for as you blow out the birthday candles?)

(Hanscom Field, Massachusetts 1968-ish)
(I'm the one in the middle, in the back, wearing the fabulous crown ;o)

Well... seriously, every birthday wish that I can remember making as a child and most often than not, prayer whispered at bedtime, included my desire to have a baby brother or sister. :o)

February 3rd marked my "little" brother's birthday.  He was born 11 years and 2 months after I was born.  How excited I was!

(Taipei, Taiwan  Feb 1975, our dad and my Baby brother "L")

(Taipei, Taiwan Feb 1975, our mom and "L")

(1975, This was his passport picture when we left the Air Force assignment in Taiwan to our new assignment at Clark AFB, Philippines).

I loved holding him... taking care of him... playing with him... taking him places...
 (Some pictures were sent to me by my sweet "baby" sister (Thank you!!!)
 & some I found in my piles of photos!)

Prayers and Birthday wishes were answered on Feb 3, 1975... and again in March 1984 (our  "baby" sister was born...but I will post about that on her birthday :o)

Here are a few pictures of him now :o)

(Cute couple :o)

Happy Birthday "Little Brother!"

I still am having problems with pasting the MckLinky code on my html...so I am linking back HERE to Midday Escapades for an amazing Friday Follow!

And have been wanting to join Alicia's fun Friday Photo Flashback....so will link back HERE
(Oh, I hope I can figure the MckLinky code soon.)

~~~~~~~~~~
& I'm closing with this anchor that was drawn for a Christmas gift to my brother and my sweet sister-in-law as Christmas gift when they were stationed in Japan.
Blessings & Aloha!
This is a beautiful post. How wonderful that God gave you the desire of your heart! I see in your profile that you are from Savannah? We vacation in Tybee for 3 or 4 weeks every fall. That is our favorite place in all the world.
How sweet that you prayed and wished for a sibling. That was quite a bit of spacing between you all, yet it seems you are very close.
Oh my goodness..I loved the picture slideshow!!!! I can tell that you just loved him so much!!!!!! Is it hard to see your baby brother as a grown man now? It's awesome to see the closeness within your own children. It's obvious where they get that from!
You are truly blessed!
Aw, What a sweet story! I always wanted a younger sibling, too. Sadly, I am an only child. I hope to have more children someday so my child isn't an only child! ;) I bet your little brother got SPOILED growing up!!
